The basic principal which governs the selection process for subcustodian appointment is the assurance and the safeguarding of our clients assets.

As a truely independent market practitioner, ACS can employ a best of breed approach to the due diligence on, and subsequent selection of, subcustodians. This creates a unique Matrix of providers that includes the best subcustodian in every market regardless of affiliation, reciprocity or relationship.

ACS takes into account a number of key considerations when selecting a subcustodian:

• Minimum credit rating - all subcustodians must comply with our minimum industry credit ratings
• Minimum shareholder equity - all subcustodians must confirm that they meet our minimum selection criteria; this is based on industry guidelines and internal policy
• Local footprint with vested and personal attention to client service
• Regulatory good standing - all subcustodians must be regulated by a country's appropriate entity and remain in good standing
• Adequate references from Market infrastructures and industry participants

We also monitor credit and capital adequacy requirements on an ongoing basis so as to ensure compliance with minimum regulatory and internal requirements. Monitoring of these requirements is undertaken by network management in partnership with our credit and risk management departments.
