Monitoring and Risk Assessment

ACS utilizes its proprietary OMARA (Ongoing Monitoring And Risk Assessment) framework when conducting counterparty due diligence designed to ensure and safeguard client assets

OMARA includes on-site due diligence and counterpary risk assessment across each of the core markets in which ACS presently operates. ACS requires that each of its underlying subcustodians supply annual documents designed to fulfill compliance with OMARA. A rating and score is assigned based on independent assessment of the subcustodian. with a view toward identifying any gaps in process or procedure. OMARA scores are then used for benchmarking purposes.

On-site due diligence is an integral part of OMARA. Given the complexity of covered markets, ACS ensures that due diligence is conducted on an ongoing basis.  On-site due diligence must be conducted at least once over every 24-month period and includes a thorough review of control and risk management. In addition, ACS updates regulatory and supporting documentation regularly.  The firm will also conduct meetings with the local market participants including the stock exchange, regulatory body, central securities depository and central bank.
